Since 1959, Navneet has been a major force in the dissemination of knowledge as since then it has published more than 5,000 titles in English, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu and other Indian and Foreign Languages, making it one of the most dominant players in the field of publishing.
Over the decades, Navneet has emerged as the preferred brand for Educational Products among teachers and students in India. Its products are sold under the brands ‘Navneet’, ‘Vikas’, ‘Gala’, ‘Grafalco’, ‘FfUuNn’ and ‘Boss’.
Navneet’s educational syllabus based supplementary books are Digests (Guide), Workbooks, and 21 Most Likely Question Sets, most of which are published in five languages – English, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, and Urdu.
The company has a dominant market share of about 65% in Western India. And, with a new range of supplementary books for students of CBSE and ICSE Boards, its educational products are now available across India.
The company also publishes various titles in the Children and General books category, which are not based on syllabus, such as coloring and activity books, board books, story books and books on health & hygiene, art & artist, cooking, mehendi, embroidery etc.
In 1993, the company saw promise in the export of Stationery products, for which it now has state-of-art manufacturing facilities in Virar (near Mumbai), Guma, Dantali and Silvassa (Union Territories bordering Maharashtra and Gujarat). In the same year Navneet launched its paper stationery products for the domestic market. The product range included tight bound note books, long books, hard case bound books and drawing books.
Today, with more than 500 Stock Keeping Units, Navneet is one of the largest paper stationery brands in India. It is also the leader in premiere stationery in markets like the Middle East, parts of Africa, U.S.A. and Europe.
In 2006, with the success of its Paper Stationery products, Navneet launched its first range of Non-Paper Stationery – FfUuNn Pencils. Over the years the Company has added many products to this brand such as erasers, sharpeners, rulers, compass boxes & art materials etc.
Foreseeing the need and demand in digital space, Navneet ventured into Digital Learning with eSense in 2009. eSense being the first in its type was set up to provide an enhanced experience for the teachers and students in the space of Digital Learning. By June 2015, more than 2,600 institutions installed eSense enabling more than 15,500 classrooms to experience digital learning in Maharashtra & Gujarat.
Leapbridge Education was conceived in 2009, by Navneet and promoted since. This allowed Navneet to foray into pre-primary education, by initiating the launch of a chain of Pre-Schools under brand Leapbridge.
Leapbridge Education bridges the leaps children take during their education. Today, Leapbridge has 7 Pre-Schools across in Pune and Mumbai Through a Company Owned Company Operated (COCO)model.
In 2011, Navneet ventured into Direct Education / School Management Business by acquiring a minority stake in a ‘School Management’ Company in Andhra Pradesh. Today it has 61 State Board Schools under the name of “Gowtham Model School” in Andhra Pradesh and 12 CBSE Schools by the name of “Orchids – the International school”.Of these 12 schools, 5 are in Bengaluru & 4 in Mumbai & 1 each in Navi Mumbai, Pune & Hyderabad.
In the year 2013-14, Navneet launched its first retail digital product “UTOP”, in Maharashtra & Gujarat. UTOP is available in English, Marathi & Gujarati. It is a complete education solution where students learn via Audio-visual content and evaluate themselves through multiple choice questions on every chapter. The learning and evaluation content packaged on a 7” Android tablet makes it a complete education solution for the students.
UTOP is an attempt to integrate technology in a student’s day to day education. UTOP ensures constructive use of technology in a student’s education without exposing students to abuse technology.
In September 2014, eSense launched its first CBSE retail product for Mathematics and Science for Grades I to X.
