Mumbai, November 14, 2009: Navneet Publications (India) Ltd., launched its latest release “Moonshot India” Chandrayaan – I, The mission complete, by Srinivas Laxman in Bangalore today to mark the 1 st anniversary of Chandrayaan – I. The book was formally launched by Piyush Pandey director of Nehru Planetarium.

The book “Moonshot India” traces the journey of India's first Moon mission, Chandrayaan – I from conception to its thrilling launch, its sudden termination, to its sensational discovery of water and ISRO's future space programme. This is the first book that gives complete experience of the successful mission of Chandrayaan – I. The book also describes the origin of the space race and the renewed interest of nations in the Moon for exploration and future habitation.

The author Srinivas Laxman, a space journalist, has covered several major rocket launches and has interacted with India's top officials in the field like K Kasturirangan, G Madhavan Nair, U R Rao and late Satish Dhawan. He has also authored “Dreams to Reality”: A Biography of Dr. APJ Kalam for children.
