Navneet Publications (India) Limited (NPIL) has announced its quarterly un-audited financial results for the quarter ended 31st March, 2003. The Turnover rose 31% to Rs.46.13 crores for the quarter ended 31st March, 2003 against Rs.35.10 crores in the corresponding quarter. After providing Rs.2.41 crores (Rs.1.40 crores) towards depreciation and Rs.84.68 lacs (Rs.78.04 lacs) towards taxation, the profit after tax increased by 14.85% to Rs.2.99 crores against Rs.2.60 crores.
The Turnover of 18 months period ended 31st March, 2003 inched upto Rs.323.60 crores against Rs.217.34 crores for previous year ended 30th September, 2001. The other income was at Rs.5.58 crores against Rs.4.37 crores in the previous accounting year.
It is important to note that during 18 months period, there has been only one academic period and 2 lean periods. Therefore, the results will not reflect the true picture on pro-rata basis.
After providing for depreciation of Rs.11.44 crores against Rs.5.19 crores in the previous accounting year, and provision for taxation of Rs.15.83 crores against Rs.14.25 crores, the profit after tax was at Rs.37.11 crores as against Rs.32.21 crores in the previous accounting year.
